Sokoine University of Agriculture invites Applications from qualified Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians for admission to the Degree, Diploma and Certificate programmes offered by the University in the academic year 2016/2017.
Applicants who have completed “A” level education and qualify to apply for degree programmes (Direct Entry Scheme) shall apply direct to the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU); candidates who would wish to apply through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) formerly known as Mature Age Entry shall also apply through TCU. Applicants with Full Technician certificates (FTC) and Diploma qualifications shall apply through National Council of Technical Education (NACTE). More information on mode of

Those who wish to apply for Diploma and Certificate programmes shall apply directly to the University.
A. GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
DIRECT STUDENTS:
Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E.) (Ordinary level) or equivalent with passes in FOUR relevant subjects AND two principal level passes in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (A.C.S.E.E.) in relevant subjects that add up to a minimum of 4.0 points. The scale to be used in counting points will base on both old grading system for candidates who completed Secondary Education before 2014 where A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1 and S= 0.5
and new grading system for candidates who completed Secondary Education from 2014 where A=5, B+=4, B=3, C=2, D=1 and E= 0.5
EQUIVALENT STUDENTS:
Diploma Certificate with a GPA of not less than 2.7 and a minimum of
FOUR passes or THREE credits in relevant subjects in the certificate of Secondary School Education
Examination (CSEE; O-level).
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) CANDIDATES

Diploma Certificate with a GPA of not less than 2.7 in Agricultural and Livestock fields already

At least ONE PRINCIPAL PASS or TWO PASSES at ACSEE adding up to 2.0 points in one of the following: Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Science and Practice of Agriculture, Geography, Economics and Commerce.
OR
A certificate in information technology, engineering or other relevant disciplines from an accredited institution and CSEE passes in at least three subjects one of which must be mathematics.
(4) DIPLOMA IN TROPICAL ANIMAL HEALTH AND PRODUCTION
Advanced Level passes in Chemistry, Biology/Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, Geography or Science and Practice of Agriculture. The candidate must pass Biology/Zoology at Principal Level. Such candidates must also have O-level passes in English and Mathematics.
OR
Appropriate certificates such as Certificate in Animal Health (Agrovet), Certificate in Animal Health and Production (AHPC), Certificate in Agriculture and Livestock Production (CALP). A holder of such a certificate should have a minimum of three credit passes at O-level in Biology/Zoology/ Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics at Tanzania Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or equivalent
(5) DIPLOMA IN LABORATOTY TECHNOLOGY
A-level Certificate with passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. One of these subjects must be passed at Principal level with a total of TWO points (C grade). Candidate with Advanced Level passes in combinations without Biology must have passed Biology at credit level in CSEE.
OR
Basic Technician Certificate from recognized institution.

Certificate of Secondary Education with passes in Biology and Chemistry and Trade test Certificate of at least grade II
(6) CERTIFICATE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
O-level certificate, with passes in at least three subjects.

(ii) Diploma and Certificate applicants
Diploma and Certificate applicants should apply directly to SUA by filling online application forms which can obtained from www.sua.ac.tz
(iii) Applications to all programmes must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of twenty thousand Tanzania shillings only (20,000) for Tanzanians and USD 30 for Foreigner applicants paid through SUA account (CRDB 01J1076769836)
(iv) All applications must be accompanied by genuine copies of relevant certificates, passport size photograph. Applications without photocopies of certificates and bank pay slip will not be considered
(v) Applications with Foreign Secondary School Certificates should be accompanied with National Examinations Council (NECTA) Equivalence translations
(vi) All applicants should meet the minimum stated qualifications. Applications which will not meet stated qualifications will not be processed
(vii) Candidates applying for Certificate and Diploma courses should submit the applications forms duly filled not later than 20th September, 2015
