National Ranching Company Ltd (NARCO) in Tanzania is a major state-owned enterprise specializing in large-scale livestock production. It plays a crucial role in the country’s agricultural sector, focusing on cattle ranching, breeding, and meat production. NARCO contributes significantly to food security, employment, producing quality meat for export, and the development of sustainable livestock practices in Tanzania.
This visit provides students with the opportunity to observe the practical application of theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom. Witnessing livestock management practices on the ranch enhances their understanding of concepts such as grazing management, pasture establishments, production of quality hay, breeding, hides and skins, nutrition, and disease control in the ranch, making the learning experience into reality.
