The Department of Animal, Aquaculture and Range Sciences is pleased to inform the scientific community and Congratulate Dr. Dismas Said Shija a member of academic staff, for successfully defending his PhD on 21st June 2023 at Egerton University in Kenya. The tittle of his PhD thesis is “Application of Positive Deviance Concept to Assess Amelioration Strategies for Environmental Stresses on Smallholder Dairy Farms in Tanzania.”
Dr Shija was supervised by Professor Dr. Bockline Omedo Bebe(PhD), Dr. Perminus K. Migwi (PhD) (both from Egerton University) and Dr. Okeyo Ally Mwai (PhD) from International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). Dr. Shija is an expert in Livestock production Systems at the Department of Animal, Aquaculture and Range Sciences from Sokoine University of Agriculture. His main research areas are on Dairy Farming and Entrepreneurship.
