The Department is actively involved in teaching, research, outreach, and production in the fields of animal husbandry, aquaculture, and range management. The Department offers three undergraduate degree programs, two master’s Programmes, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees.
The Department of Animal, Aquaculture, and Range Sciences typically offers a wide range of courses in the areas that include animal nutrition, genetics, reproduction, physiology, behavior, animal products, draught power, animal welfare; aquaculture production systems, water quality, fish nutrition, fish health, aquatic ecology; range ecology, pasture, forage management, livestock production systems, and non-conventional animal management.
In addition to coursework, the department may also offer hands-on learning opportunities through laboratory exercises, field trips, and research projects. Students in the department may also have the opportunity to gain practical experience through internships, study abroad programs, or other experiential learning opportunities.
Graduates of the Department of Animal, Aquaculture, and Range Sciences may pursue careers in a variety of areas, including livestock production, aquaculture, range management, animal nutrition, research and development, and extension education. They may also pursue advanced degrees in related fields, such as graduate studies in animal science, aquaculture, or range management.
