Delphina Peter Mamiro (PhD) was an Associate Professor in Plant Pathology at Sokoine University of Agriculture. She taught Agriculture Microbiology, Introductory Plant Pathology, Applied Plant Pathology, Organic farming and Plant Mycology. Her research involvement includes projects on Integrated Pests Management Innovation Lab (IPM-IL) for Eastern Africa (Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia) (funded by USAID, capacity building in vegetable post-harvest technology in Tanzania (Post-harvest Innovation Lab. - funded by USAID and substrates and spawn carrier combinations for improving oyster mushroom yields.
She has published 45 articles in peer reviewed journals, three book chapters and numerous conference papers and extension materials. Prof. Mamiro was a member of Ministerial Advisory Board (MAB) of Tanzania National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA); a member of the Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Sub - Committee (PQPS) of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Prof. Mamiro died on February 2021, She continued her work until her final days
