Heshima Seeds Launches Undergraduate Competition to Boost Sunflower Yields

Heshima Seeds Limited, is a startup seed company based in Babati, Tanzania dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers. The company is excited to announce an undergraduate competition aimed at finding innovative and practical solutions to enhance sunflower production in Tanzania. The competition offers a grant of up to 500,000 TSH to support the winning research project. The theme for this year’s competition is “Cost-Effective Methods to Increase Sunflower Yields for Smallholder Farmers.” Heshima Seeds recognizes the critical role of sunflower in the livelihoods of Tanzanian farmers and seeks to support research that can significantly improve their productivity and income.

Undergraduate students are encouraged to participate and submit their innovative ideas. The competition aims to harness the creativity and knowledge of young minds to address the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in the sunflower sector.
