On 11th June 2022, students pursuing a Bachelor of Community Development offered by the Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Development celebrated the day of the African Child 2022.
The students managed to mobilize a number of development stakeholders to help the students from SUA Primary School and SUA Secondary school. The students offered training on the theme of the African Child for the year 2022.
16 June is the official Day of the African Child. The different stakeholders promote children’s rights and recognize the efforts aimed at protecting and promoting them across the continent.
The safety and wellbeing of children in Africa is compromised by challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate crises, food shortages, child labour, Child marriage rates, and female genital mutilation.
