In a show of unity and solidarity, students of the Bachelor of Community Development degree and those of the Bachelor of Agricultural Extension degree from the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) held a ceremony to welcome freshers in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Development. The ceremony was organized by the Community Development Association (CDA) from the Department of Extension and Community Development.
The ceremony, which was held with much pomp and fanfare, was attended by many students and CDA leaders. The official guest at the ceremony was the Patron of CDA, Dr. Madaha, who encouraged the students to continue to stick together and participate in various social and academic activities to bring development not only to them personally but also to the whole community. In his speech, Dr. Madaha stressed the importance of collaborating and committing to studies and social activities, saying that their unity is an important pillar in achieving their goals. “Cooperating in everything will bring progress to you personally and to our society. Do not hesitate to ask for advice and help from the lecturers and fellow students,” said Dr. Madaha.
The chairman of CDA, Ndege Magoma, also welcomed the first-year students with a warm heart, asking them to be disciplined in their studies so that they can achieve the goals they have set for themselves. He added that the CDA is ready to help them in their educational journey.At another stage of the ceremony, sports equipment including jerseys and balls were officially launched to promote sports and cooperation among students. The launch of the CDA jersey was aimed at encouraging students to participate in sports activities for better health and promote friendship and cooperation among them. Overall, the ceremony was a great success and gave the first-year students a sense of welcome and motivation to start their academic journey with renewed enthusiasm and energy. CDA promises to continue organizing various events and activities that will contribute to the development of students and society in general.
Sherehe ya Kuwakaribisha Wanafunzi wa Mwaka wa Kwanza
Katika kuonyesha umoja na mshikamano, wanafunzi wa shahada ya Maendeleo ya Jamii (Bachelor of Community Development) pamoja na wale wa shahada ya Ugani (Bachelor of Agricultural Extension) kutoka Chuo Kikuu cha Sokoine cha Kilimo (SUA) walifanya sherehe ya kuwakaribisha wanafunzi wenzao wa mwaka wa kwanza. Sherehe hiyo iliandaliwa na Asasi ya Maendeleo ya Jamii (Community Development Association – CDA) kutoka Idara ya Ugani na Maendeleo ya Jamii.
Sherehe hiyo iliyofanyika kwa mbwembwe na shamrashamra nyingi, ilihudhuriwa na wanafunzi wengi pamoja na viongozi wa CDA. Mgeni rasmi katika sherehe hiyo alikuwa Mlezi wa CDA, Dr. Madaha, ambaye aliwahimiza wanafunzi hao kuendelea kushikamana na kushiriki katika shughuli mbalimbali za kijamii na kitaaluma ili kuleta maendeleo sio tu kwao binafsi bali pia kwa jamii nzima.
Katika hotuba yake, Dr. Madaha alisisitiza umuhimu wa kushirikiana na kujituma katika masomo na shughuli za kijamii, akisema kwamba umoja wao ni nguzo muhimu katika kufikia malengo yao. “Kushirikiana katika kila jambo kutaleta maendeleo kwenu binafsi na kwa jamii yetu. Msisite kuomba ushauri na msaada kwa walimu na wanafunzi wenzenu,” alisema Dr. Madaha.
Mwenyekiti wa CDA, Ndege Magoma, naye aliwakaribisha wanafunzi hao wa mwaka wa kwanza kwa moyo mkunjufu, akiwataka kujituma na kuwa na nidhamu katika masomo yao ili waweze kufikia malengo waliyojiwekea. Aliongeza kuwa CDA iko tayari kuwasaidia kwa hali na mali katika safari yao ya kielimu.
Katika hatua nyingine ya sherehe hiyo, vifaa vya michezo ikiwemo jezi na mpira vilizinduliwa rasmi kama ishara ya kukuza michezo na ushirikiano miongoni mwa wanafunzi. Uzinduzi huo ulilenga kuhamasisha wanafunzi kushiriki katika shughuli za michezo kwa afya bora na kukuza urafiki na ushirikiano.
Kwa ujumla, sherehe hiyo ilifanikiwa sana na iliwapa wanafunzi wa mwaka wa kwanza hisia za ukaribisho na hamasa ya kuanza safari yao ya masomo kwa ari na nguvu mpya. CDA inaahidi kuendelea kuandaa matukio na shughuli mbalimbali zitakazochangia katika maendeleo ya wanafunzi na jamii kwa ujumla
