Mabebe Ntumva began academic life as a teacher in chemistry and mathematics in Tanzanian public secondary schools. He later joined Sokoine University of Agriculture as an undergraduate student and later as an academician. He completed his masters program in human resource management at Mzumbe University and later a PhD in peace and conflict resolution at the University of Bradford- UK; and proceeded to teach courses in agricultural extension, governance, conflicts resolution, and management. Post-PhD graduation, Mabebe has focused on researching and publishing on land use conflicts in Tanzania and sub Saharan Africa, the most recent three publications being on land use conflicts between farmers and pastoralists. Mabebe has supervised more than 30 undergraduate students to completion, with ongoing supervision for several others, including postgraduate students. Currently, Mabebe is serving as the Head- Department of Agricultural Extension and Community development, a position he formally assumed since July 2023.
