Dismas L. Mwaseba obtained his PhD in Development Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Development. He served as Head of Department of Agricultural Education and Extension from 2008-2011 and then as Director for SUA Centre for Sustainable Rural Development from 2011 to 2015. He has considerable teaching and research experience spanning over 30 years. Besides, he has consulted on a wide range of assignments in agriculture, livestock, extension, and impacts of development interventions. Of recent his research interests have focused on empowerment interventions, climate change, seed systems, and governance. Currently, among others, he is coordinator of the “Timber Rush Project: Private Forestry on Village Land” and serves as case country manager for the European Commission-funded InnovAfrica Project in Tanzania.
