Here are some key aspects of orchard management that students learn:

Site Selection:

Through field exercises and site visits, students learn to assess various factors such as climate, soil type, and water availability, enabling them to make informed decisions when selecting suitable locations for orchards.

Variety Selection and Planting:

Students engage in selecting appropriate tree varieties based on practical considerations such as disease resistance and market demand. They also participate in planting activities, gaining experience in proper planting techniques to ensure the healthy establishment of fruit trees.

Pruning and Training:

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students practice pruning and training techniques on actual trees, learning how to maintain optimal tree size and shape for improved fruit quality and yield.

Irrigation and Soil Management:

Students gain practical skills in irrigation system installation and operation, as well as soil fertility management through activities such as soil testing, fertilizer application, and mulching.

Pest and Disease Management:

Through observation and hands-on activities, students learn to identify common pests and diseases affecting orchards and implement integrated pest management strategies to mitigate their impact.
