On Friday 16th August 2019 ,The College of Agriculture joined SUA Vice Chancellor Prof Raphael Chibunda, staff and community to welcome the South African President His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, who visited the former Solomon Mahlangu Freedom College (SOMAFCO) at Mazimbu (now Solomon Mahlangu College of Science and Education of SUA).

President Ramaphosa gave a speech and visited Unit three, Vuyisile Mini Furniture Mart, an office at Klip town and a graveyard of the African National Congress (ANC) members who died while in exile in Morogoro. He was accompanied by the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Prof. Palamagamba Kabundi, Minister for Education, Prof. Joyce Ndalichako, and Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Dr. Harrison Mwakyembe.
