The Chancellor of Sokoine University of Agriculture Hon. Ret. Judge Joseph S. Warioba, appointed Dr. Nyambilila A. Amuri to be the Principal of the College of Agriculture (CoA) and Prof. Anthony Z. Sangeda to be the Deputy Principal. These newly appointed leaders assumed their tenure from the 20th of December 2023 to the 19th of December 2026. Dr. Nyambilila Amuri was the Director of the Directorate of Undergraduate Studies at Sokoine University of Agriculture and Prof. Anthony Sangeda is the Head of the Department of Animal, Aquaculture, and Range Sciences.
The College of Agriculture is located at the Edward Moringe campus in Morogoro Municipality, Tanzania. The College is the most diverse academic unit at Sokoine University of Agriculture with the mission of contributing towards the transformation of the agricultural sector through the provision of quality education, research, outreach and advisory services to society in the areas of Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, Community Development, Animal health and production, Aquaculture, Range Sciences, Crop Science, Seed Technology, Horticulture, Human Nutrition, Consumer Sciences, Soil Sciences, Geological Sciences, Agro-Ecology and related areas.
The College comprises six administrative departments namely the SUA Model Training Farm, the Department of Soil and Geological Sciences, the Department of Crop Science and Horticulture, the Department of Human Nutrition and Consumer Sciences, the Department of Animal, Aquaculture and Range Sciences, and the Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Development.
