SUA Participates in the Inaugural CROSAT Scientific Conference

The Crop Science Association of Tanzania (CROSAT) held its inaugural scientific conference earlier in November, bringing together professionals, researchers, and practitioners from various disciplines in crop and allied sciences. The theme of the conference, “Surmounting Climate Change in Crop Production Technologies,” focused on innovative solutions to the challenges posed by climate change in agriculture, particularly in crop production.

The Crop Science Association of Tanzania (CROSAT) is a professional body that unites scientists, educators, and stakeholders in crop science to advance agricultural development in Tanzania. Established to promote research, innovation, and dissemination of crop-related knowledge, CROSAT focuses on improving productivity, sustainability, and food security.

CROSAT serves as a platform for collaboration among crop scientists, policymakers, and agricultural practitioners. It emphasizes addressing challenges such as climate change, pests, diseases, and soil degradation while promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The association organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences, providing opportunities for members to share research findings, network, and collaborate on agricultural projects. It also advocates for science-based agricultural policies and practices to enhance Tanzania’s agricultural sector.
