PERSONAL BIO-DATA

Eliakira Kisetu Nassary has specialized in Sustainable Agriculture. Eliakira is a Farming System Agronomist and a Lecturer at the Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. From 2014 to 2020 he worked with N2Africa Project: Putting Nitrogen Fixation to Work for Smallholder Farmers in Africa (www.N2Africa.org) a grant to Wageningen University and Research, the Netherlands funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on one side, and with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) through the Graduate Research Internship on the other. The research was looking on the options for the sustainable intensification of common bean cultivation on smallholder farms to ensure food security based on the variability in agro-ecological zones and the existing bean cultivars using certain cropping systems and the specific time of introducing a bean crop relative to other crops in the field. Eliakiras research interests lie on the sustainability of farming systems; soil-plant interactions; soil chemistry and organic substrates; soil fertility and fertilizers; plant nutrition and physiology; agro-ecosystems and dynamics; research exploration, execution & statistical data management; training and consultancy.
