BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Daniel Isdory is a soil scientist and an agronomist with specialization in the discipline of Pedology/Soil Survey/Land Evaluation. He has an experience in assisting the teaching and practical supervision of soil science courses in the areas of soil genesis, soil morphology, soil classification, soil survey and agricultural land use planningfor undergraduate students at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). Mr. Isdory is also interested in the research, outreach activities and consultancies in not only his areas of specialization but also the fields of agronomy, organic farming, soil fertility management and digital soil mapping. He is a member of Tanzania Agronomy Society (TAS), East Africa Organic Movement, Soil Science Society of East Africa (SSSEA) and Sokoine University of AgricultureAcademic Staff Association (SUASA).

PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT
November, 2014 – March, 2015: Agronomist at Bytrade Tanzania Ltd. Responsible for seed and pesticide demonstration management and extension to farmers and customers with regard to uses of agrochemicals and improved seeds as well as good agronomic practices for crop production.
March, 2015 to December, 2015:Field Project Officer based in Iringa at a project “Increasing Irrigation Water Productivity in Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbabwe through on Farm Monitoring, Adaptive Management and Agriculture Innovation Platforms”.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Mr. Isdory has wide range of research interests that include soil and associated land resources characterization and mapping, soil genesis, soil morphology and classification; agricultural land evaluation; digital soil mapping for generation of geographically referenced soil databases in Tanzania;agronomy; organic farming;soil fertility management for enhancing crop productivityand updating laboratory soil analysis methods for tropical soils.

22nd – 26th February, 2016: Attended short course training in QGIS, QSWAT and SWATCUP Open source tools for Hydrological and Agro-ecological Modeling conducted by Aarhus University of Denmark in collaboration with the Sokoine University of Agriculture, February 2016. Under the Building Stronger Universities Project, Agro-Ecology Focus Area, Morogoro, Tanzania.
10th – 31st July, 2014: Attended an International Training Course in Organic Agriculture (ITCOA) conducted at Makerere University, in Kampala, Uganda where I was awarded a certificate of participation.
