Daniel Masumbuko Nhunda is a dedicated and accomplished professional in the field of Soil Science and Agronomy. Since December 2018, Daniel has been working with Sokoine University as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Soil & Geological sciences. He has served as a Field Practical Training Coordinator and a workers representative of the academic staff of the department of soil and geological sciences at the College level (College of Agriculture – SUA).

Daniel’s passion for agriculture led him to MATI-Ukiriguru, where he earned a Diploma in General Agriculture from 2008 to 2010. He then pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Bsc. Agronomy at Sokoine University of Agriculture from 2014 to 2017. His thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there, as he went on to earn a MSc. in Soil Science from the same university from 2019 to 2023.

Daniel’s professional career is as impressive as his academic achievements. He started his career as a Physics and Chemistry Teacher at Kasamwa Sec. School from 2007 to 2008. He then worked as a Vice District Coordinator at UWEZO ORG. from 2010 to 2012, where he was involved in surveying and evaluating the performance of students in Primary School. From 2012 to 2013, he worked as a consultant in Canadian Physician for Aid and Relief (CPAR) organization based at Ukerewe District. From 2012 to 2018, he served as the Agricultural Field Officer at Muleba District council.

Daniel is also a member of the Tanzania Agronomy Society (TAS) and the International Salt Affected Soils (INSAS). He has published several research papers in reputable journals, contributing significantly to the field of Soil Science and Agronomy https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Daniel-Nhunda.

Daniel’s work has had a significant impact on the field of agriculture, particularly in the area of soil health. His interpretation of soil laboratory results and fertilizer recommendation to clients has improved crop performance, hence contributing to food security and stabilized economy of farmers across the country.
